Understand the business.
Understand the world.
Understand the decision.
Understand the audience.

To know me is to know that I have always loved stories, and been inspired by watching people turn their ideas into something real. My mom works in marketing; my dad owns a bar and restaurant. Sunday nights meant Shark Tank on the couch with my family, and I remember thinking: someday, I want to build something of my own.
My friends used to joke that I watched "the parent channels." I loved Disney Channel just as much as the next kid, but Food Network and HGTV were just as likely to be on. I figured it was the food, or the gorgeous homes I dreamed of living in, but looking back, it was the process that captivated me: how The Pioneer Woman told the story of every dish she cooked, or how a realtor told a different story to each buyer, helping them imagine that house as their home.
Eventually I started telling my own. My brothers and I played a game where one of us drew random pictures and the other two wrote a story to string them together. Later the colored pencils gave way to a camera: music videos on Video Star, vlogs of middle school dances on iMovie. As much as words can tell a story, I learned that images, music, and editing could make someone feel one.
A semester in Barcelona brought the camera back out. I wanted to document my time without describing everything I did. Just footage and music, showing how the moments felt. That is what I love about video: the choices behind an edit can turn a collection of clips into something someone really feels.
I didn't expect to love accounting. After enjoying my first required class, I assumed it was a fluke. But I liked the second even more, and eventually found myself looking forward to tutoring managerial accounting. I realized I genuinely enjoyed working through quantitative problems and understanding the reasoning behind them.
Studying accounting, international business, and law at Kelley has taught me to look at the business behind an idea: the numbers, the decisions, and what it takes to make something work. I've found that I enjoy bringing that perspective into creative work, where understanding people and telling a good story can be just as important.
I'm still exploring where all of this might lead: marketing, media, brand strategy, partnerships, sports, real estate, or something I haven't discovered yet.
What connects those interests is my curiosity about people and businesses: why certain ideas resonate, how relationships are built, and what makes something successful.
Whatever direction I take, I know I want to keep learning, creating, and finding opportunities to bring different ways of thinking together.
